Summer Course for Teachers: 'Yoga in Schools including Mindfulness and Self-Care'
This course is approved by the Department of Education and Skills. Participants qualify for three EPV days.

About the Course:
The course will give teachers practical tips, resources and confidence to use fun yoga movements with their children during the school day, along with relaxation tools to support the children’s mental well-being.
Teachers will learn how to use yoga as a therapeutic aid to support children with additional needs.
There will be clear instructions as to how to set up a programme of both yoga and mindfulness in your school.
The teachers will look at how to apply self-care principles to their own life by setting personal goals, with a focus on teaching resilience and well-being.
Teachers will participate in a daily yoga practice for self-care, along with relaxation sessions to help teachers unwind after a busy year.
The course will be well-structured allowing for both theory and practice every day.
You will be provided with a comprehensive course booklet to use when you return to school in September!
Guest Lecturer, Marina Hughes:
Marina is a Primary School Teacher with over 28 years experience across all classes and settings. Marina has a particular interest in well-being and is passionate about bringing greater awareness to the importance of improving the well-being of our school children and teachers. Together, Sara and Marina have designed and implemented a well-being programme in their school; the Healthy Minds Programme. This programme has proved highly innovative and successful in bringing together a number of initiatives to improve well-being in their school.
Marina is also a trained and certified coach in leadership, life and well-being coaching. Marina has excellent facilitation skills and brings clarity and focus to her sessions empowering participants to identify their own well-being needs and inner resources. She supports participants to identify personal life and career goals, to reflect clearly on their current reality and to make progress towards achieving them.
